Record your first lecture

Say it’s Calculus II and today is integration by parts.

  1. Pick the class and press ● Record (top right). Live notes appear every few minutes and a live transcript panel follows along.
  2. Press ⭐ Highlight when something matters and 🙋 Catch me up if you zone out.
  3. Press ■ Stop. The title shows “finishing the last minute ⏳”, then your notes are on screen.

Recording controls

⭐ Highlight = flag what was just said · 🙋 Catch me up = 3 bullets on the last 5 minutes · ⏸ Break = pause (nothing recorded) · ■ Stop = done, notes open immediately. ⌘⇧H flags a highlight from any app.

On Windows the highlight shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+H.

The octopus in your menu bar can also start and stop a recording or flag a highlight without opening the window.

⏸ Break turns the microphone fully off — your computer’s microphone light goes out — and ▶ Resume continues the same lecture.
